Went to the doctor...

It's the first time I have been in over a year, my lower back has been killing me, and they sent me for x-rays a few days ago, and I got the results back. I have scoliosis (sp)

Not only that but, the nurse comes in and does the usual check up stuff, and tells me that my blood pressure is extremely high. I was in a little pain that day, but not as much as I have been, and so I just thought that it was because I was in pain. So I went back a few days later as the doctor suggested to get my blood pressure tested again, and it was still high, but lower than the last time.

So evidently I have high blood pressure, and I was wondering if anyone else on these forums have/had it, and what you do/did to help it.

I have a natural curve to my spine. I cant remember if that is called scoliosis or not, but I think that is what they said I had when I was younger. I may be wrong though. It sucks, but I can still work with it. Hell I have 1 ruptured disc in my back and still work with it. I sit all day long, which is probably the worst thing I could do longterm, but hurts to much to do a physical job in the short term. Kinda sucks, but that is life.

i've had high blood pressure, best thing u can do is eat right, exercise, and keep an eye on it.

I have hereditary hemochromatosis, diabetes and high blood pressure.....

I'm taking Lisinopril for the BP....it seems to be working pretty well.....sometimes almost too well and it almost interferes with my treatments for the other stuff....

edit:....oh yeah, that whole eating right and exercising thing helps too

Iam 18. We had testing for that when I was in middle school, but I didn't go to it, and the doctor I went to for the physical didn't really do nothing except check my blood pressure and ears. (he got put in jail for mal-practice 8 months later)

Yeah, it's a curvature(sp) of the spine, they said it is pretty common in 18 year olds.

It does hurt alot to do just about anything. It hurts to sit unless I can find a certian postion, then once I stand up, it hurts extremely bad if I try to stand up straight immediately after getting up, but after a while Iam able to stand straight.

Some days it doesn't hurt hardly at all, but then other days it can be pretty painful. It sucks trying to drive to school because it seems like it always hurts the worst in the morning and at night, so every time I take a turn on the road my body shifts and a stream of obscenities flow out of my mouth. People at school think I have tourettes or something:laugh:

Yeah, I try to eat right, and I used to exercise alot, but ever since my back started killing me, it makes it difficult to do some exercises.
