And i ******! Hahaha.

I was freakin' out because i found out about the comp today @ lunchtime, and googled bass race after work, just before i was heading out the door to the show , and read the rules.

I found out you can't play bass tracks, and have to use pressed cd's! That rules out 99% of the cd's i had with me, since most of them are mp3's.

So anyways, i got there, and played some too short song, from the beginning no less, and the bass didn't kick in till :09, and i got WOMPED!!!

I was peaking @ low 140's, and only qualified in the 120-129.9 class, and then i was paranoid about going over from there out, so i kept using the same song.

Round 1 i averaged @ 123 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif but the other car went over.

Round 2 i averaged @ 128, and rising, when the other car went out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Round 3 (final) i averaged @ 129.3, and the other car was 129.7, he won fair and square.

Definitely a good time, tho. I'll be back next week, once i find a GOOD song, and try to get in the 130-139.9 class, and try and be competetive.

The guy running the termlab let me play around with my system window down after the comp was over, and i maxed out @ 143.2, which i'm definitely satisfied with. Hopefully if i get a good box, with a bigger port, i'll be @ 144, which should make competing in the 130-139.9 class doable.

Good time, tho. Thanks to mtlhead for letting me know about it this afternoon. I'll def be back there again soon. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Don't laugh......

2 15" 2006 L7's

4.5 cf per sub, inverted mounting, tuned @ 33hz

hifonics bxi2006D

iraggi 240A alternator

Interstate megatron mk2 starter battery

optima redtop 2nd battery

kinetik 800 battery (6 inches from the hifonics)

0 gauge big 3, and power and ground cables

I know it's a low score for my setup, but i'm new at this, and have a game plan.

Phase 1: New box. staying at 4.5 each @ 33hz, but need more port area. I swear to god it's not my fault, but the shop that built my box (to my exact specifications, in fact) only gave that huge honkin' box 39 square inches of port!!!

Phase 2: New amp. Looking at an orion 2500D, lanzar opti4000D and the 3000x1 massive audio class D amps. Waiting for a month or so to decide on my ultimate goal, so i don't have to buy a 3rd amp 6 months down the road.

Phase 3: Get metered and track improvements with the L7's, but ultimately sell the 15's, and get 4 12" L7's/2 12" solo-x's/1 18" solo-x, basically, step up the speakers a notch (or 20)

If i can improve by 6 points just by building a new box with a larger port, and doubling my power, i'll stick the with L7's. But i know there's louder setups, as well as setups that can hit my numbers, and sound a hell of a lot better doing it (my substage honestly sounds terrible.....but loud)

Again, i've never been metered before, so now i know where i stand, and know i can make improvements with my current setup, and then look for the next step.

yea its a good setup, the box is holding you back, build your own //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif, maybe bump up the size to 5 cubes or sodo atleast 45 sq" per sub i would think, the more th ebetter

that box was no where near 4.5 cu ft per sub, lol id think it was 4.5 total. He does have a nice setup though...just needs a better box (itll be hard to fit 9 cu ft into that car though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ). Good luck next week, I won't be able to attend though. kick ass in the 130's

hehe, you gotta give me more credit than that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

box is 41 x 16.5 x 27

minus port displacement is 9.08

it's gross speaker displacement, but that's why they're inverted //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I could actually go bigger, but the box already looks borderline ridiculous IMO, hahaha

i'm planning on building the next box myself, identical, except the port's gonna be 3x39.5

that ought make a big difference
