There's no need for automatic guns?! I've been around guns my whole entire life and i can tell you, if your a gun guru, THERES A NEED FOR AN AUTOMATIC GUN. Its for the thrill, the challenge , moving up to the next level of your hobby. Thats like saying a person who loves cars and tries to buy the fastest one out there. Theres no need to have a car 1000hp, but its moving up to the next level, its a hobby. Hell, even us car audio guys, do you really think we need to be listening to music at 155+ dbs? No, but because its something we love to do, something we live for, we push to get the loudest vehicle possible.
Also, does Obama really think that this will cut down criminal acts? First of all, what criminal is going to go to the nearest Gander Mt. to buy a M16/AR15 were they run background checks? If a Criminal really wants a gun, im sure he'll be buying his "Assault Rifle" in some downtown back alley way.

Exactly!! Many people have a very hard time realizing that guns are a hobby to MANY Americans. And as you've stated, just like any other hobby there is always better and "unnecessary" levels of said hobby. Just cause guns deserve and need to be respected and handled correctly to be safe doesn't mean they should be banned or outlawed. I mean shit, cars kill way more people than guns every year and yet we let stupid ass 16 year olds and 90 year olds who can't see over the wheel drive without thinking twice.

Automatic rifles/pistols/smg should be purchase restricted (but able to be accessed by citizens)

Truck mounted 40mm belt fed miniguns though? Probably should be illegal

Haha, of course you have to have proper licensing, and I understand AR's and AK's for sport, but look at the list, who the hell needs a striker 12 or dragunov sniper rifle?

A semi auto matic shotgun? For competition and bird hunting.

A bolt/semi action rifle? For competition and hunting.

Just because you see those names in video games doesn't qualify them as not available to the public compared to any other firearm with a different name.

What is the difference between your dragunov sniper rifle and my 30-06 deer rifle? Just cause the dragunov looks and sounds more intense doesn't make it any more harmful. It does not even use that large of a round in comparison to many "legitimate" hunting rifles.

Bird hunting with a gun that has no stock and is front heavy as hell. Yea very practical, why would you not use something like a Benelli M4 if you wanted semi auto?

The 7.62 IS a pretty big bullet in those drags. But they are usually affiliated with conflict and not US Made as well so that has alot of play in the "evilness"

That's not the point. A semi autio shotgun is a semi auto shotgun.

Then that makes it not available to the public. Which means it is "banned".

The reason you own something is because you want it, and want to use it when you want to. So what is the difference between a benelli m4 semi auto and a pistol grip semi auto without a stock that makes it unneeded and more dangerous in your eyes?

Diameter wise, 7.62 is the same as the AK round. Cartridge length the dragunov 7.62x51 or 54 is alot bigger though. They will tear **** UP.

heres a pretty good comparison off the three main 7.62 rounds, the biggets being the .54 that the drag uses. So yeah the bullet is the same.
