LOL Delphi is a separate company. They've been in bankruptcy since 2007 IIRC. They are UAW as well. She won't lose her social security obviously, and most likely her pension is government insured. That is if Delphi completely goes out, which is likely since GM is now bankrupt and cutting production.

They are separate, but they used to be together IIRC. Just wondering if she would lose her pension and benefits was all because she told me if they go belly up (GM) it is highly likely they will either take it, or cut it in half.

You're just a peon. Your taxes don't matter. The government runs on large corporation like GM. get off your ****ing high horse and join us in reality. 40% of you pissants don't even pay taxes. GM's Tech Center in Warren, for instance, pays 1.5 million annually in property taxes to the city of Warren. Their powertrain plant in Warren pays 750k annually in property taxes. That pays for all you irrelevant peons education, police, firefighters, city services etc. GM's headquarters in Detroit pays millions of property taxes to the city of Detroit. They also have over 4000 employees there who pay Detroit city income tax. The Big 3 has paid billions in taxes. They also produced military vehicles for the US in WWII. These companies have given hundreds of thousands of jobs to people who pay taxes, and yet you want to get on your soap box and cry about helping out a company who has done more for America than you will ever do in your lifetime? Just because you pay less that one tenth of a percent of taxes than GM does?

The bailouts were supposed to prevent them from going under, yet they are still going bankrupt. They could have saved a lot of time and money if they would have just gone bankrupt in the first place.
