A couple days ago I installed a HU in my friends Kia and everything was fine, then I told him that I had an amp (the jensen one that I was trying to sell here) laying around that could probably power one of his subs. So we go to Meijers and he buys an amp kit and I run all the wires in his car hook it all up and everything is working good. But the subs sound like garbage with running only 50WRMS to each coil and gain set properly the speakers make noise when they hit and the volume is at about 18. Only some songs sound good on them as well.

Did you check the preouts on the HU maybe? Are the speakers setup through the factory wiring or did you get new wiring and wire them all seperatley?

THe HU preouts are fine, the new wire that we ran is fine. I'm just saying that the subs dont sound good at all...

actually ha its 50 per coil thats the only way we could wire it, 1 coil to a channel it cant be bridged at 2 ohm.

what kinda coils do you have? dual 4s can be wired to 8 ohms and then youll bridge the amp to that load and each channel will see 4 ohms. that way you dont have to worry about it getting left and right signals.

Yes, wire each sub in series and then both together in parallel for an overall load of 4ohms.

so I can wire it like option #2, do I put + to one of the sub then run it to + on the other sub and do the same for negative, and then positive to negative on one sub and the same for the other sub. sorry if that is confusing.

Audiobahns require a lot of power, much more that 50watts. When I had my 12" subs I was giving them 400watts and they sounded like crap, but then again that is Audiobahn for you:laugh:

Did I say that I sold him the amp at all, I said that I had an amp that would work temorarly I didnt sell him the amp I told him that he could borrow it until he gets an amp of his own.

What model subs does he have? I had a pair that I was running off an Audiobahn A8000T and they sounded like crap even with that amount of power:uhoh: . I would suggest get enough power, at least the RMS. Audiobahn subs are power hungry subs and will sound like **** if they dont have at least that:crap: .

i have 2 audiobahn 10's with an old school fosgate 800a2 thats rated at 800 rms. and my subs sound pisser ! but i also have them in a slot ported box custom for the deminions of the sub.
