Well...i got lucky.... Smh

Well on Sunday night i was at friend/teammates house and we were looking at my car's firewall trying to find somewhere to access or where we can drill out to fit 4 runs of 1/0. As we are looking and pretty much there is no where to drill out. He begins to looking at the cars factory wiring boot. He said that he has seen people use this before(so have i). We inspect it and it seems all the wire are under the boot and out of the way, so we gently blade the top of the boot to slowly make our way through the boot. We get it thorough it and everything looks good, it looks just like enough space for me to do what i was wanting to do.

Well i was about to leave, i got in to crank and it would not fire. Just kept turning over. So im like WTF? its never done this before. So we go back and look at everything and we didnt touch nothing but the boot. So we begin to look over the boot and lo-and behold there is a SINGLE wire that is run through the middle of this boot, like not even ran with the rest of the wires. And we are like WHY? all the other wires are run under but this one looks like it was made into the boot. FML..... So we got out the wire strippers and wire nut, grab some 10ga speaker wire and get to it lol... It took us about 2hours and 45 mins to connect this f*ckn wire because of how short i was in on the inside of the firewall and our hands are not small. So we finally get that wire and connected and the car still doesnt fire. At this point im livid and about to leave the car lol. As a last resort my friend is like im going to get the fuse tester and test the fuses. We hit a blown and replaced it and the car finally fired. Evidently that wire was for the fuel pump and when we hit the wire, it arched and blew a fuse aslo.

Luckily it wasnt more serious, but the still we have never seen a wiring boot this way. Its ridiculous to have a random wire pretty much ran through the boot. Mitsubishi for you i guess...

Aaaand that's probably why they aren't making cars anymore for ya! LOL Glad to hear you got it running, I have never heard of that before.

That fuse saved your ***. Otherwise, you could have ruined the fuel pump. Those things are costly. Consider yourself luck y I guess.

right, i have never seen a vehicle like that. who puts a wire inside the boot not connected to the other wires?.... **** it Mitsubishi lol

i have thought about that but the thing sits so low to the ground though, getting under it without a lift is going to be a bish
