when u port any sub, it will be loud!

alpine type Rs vs Audiobahn: Type R owuld get crushed int erms of spl, but type r would kill in sq. type Rs r good subs, but way overrated imo.

I disagree with most of the SPL comments about an alpine type R... because a (now previous) world record holder for class M4 in MECA is doing 156.0 on a linear X mic and only 4 12" type Rs with I believe 1500 watts, since MECA uses max wattages and cone area to determine the class you are in.

I also believe the type Rs are great with SQ, but me, having experienced 4 differe XBL^2 subwoofers, i've never heard better clarity yet. (except the W7s)

I dont think they are overated, my gain on amp is turned a little past halfway and I abuse my sub very often.

Have you ever heard the PRS's ?? You were talking about clarity so I thought I'd bring it up.
