Welding Supply UltraFlex?

I'd like to see that too.I had bought cable from welding supply(4-Gauge)....and "Was Not" impressed with the construction of it.The paper liner sukks and the outer jacket seem to "Ripple" when a bend was made.

That was taken out of my Saturn.

I Still use Welding Cable....but switched to *Trystar Welding Cable*.I got the footage I needed from user "coppercableman" on Ebay.He owns the company,Trystar. No paper liner between cable and neoprene jacket, but a thin liner of different color neoprene.I like the quality of this cable, and can be ordered in approx.5 different colors.

I've bought 1/0 and 4-gauge cable.I use closed end Tinned battery lugs.I solder the cable into connector, and when cooled, use Adhesive lined shrink tubing to cover connections.

Welding cable in general is not for everyone, and not everyone likes it.That's understandable...but I use it,'cause at the time I "cabled up" my 1989/ Mustang....I couldn't afford the nice 1/0-StreetWires power & ground cable. Not at $6.00-$7.00 per ft.!!That was around 1991. Take Care.

*Kind Regards*/:bigwave:

Look below for a comparison of a few different popular power cable. It has the Trystar cable, local welding cable, Knu Kollossus, Kicker Kyperflex and Lighting Audio.

Wire Comparison

I will just because everyone keeps mentioning the corrosion factor, make up a couple 1ft lengths of wire w/ crimp rings on both ends. Then I will apply some dual wall heatshrink and leave them in the bed of my truck for a few months and then check one in 6 months to see how much it corrodes. I will use welding wire, Knu's wire and Kicker wire.

I doubt either will corrode in 3 or 6 months. I have 5 years on my stock battery cables. The ends are not sealed and the wire is not corroded. The difference is that my battery cables are most likely a better grade of copper than the typical welding cable.

Unless your looking to compete, I see no advantage of going w/ a tinned copper over a typical welding cable.
