Just got my 25 ft. of 0 gauge welding cable from http://www.weldingsupply.com (only $.99/ft!!)

Anyway...I'd like to say that this wire is EXTREMELY FLEXIBLE!! More flexible than any 4 gauge wire I've worked with, let alone 0 gauge...

Here are some pics of it-

Please don't use those connectors unless you are solder dipping them.

They have a tendancy to let go at the oddest of times, and really corrode the wire over time.

I get 4/0 via work accomodation for about 1.25 a foot, and I agree - for the size, it's very flexible. I don't personally use it, but we've used it in a SPL car and it does quite well. (that and at work we pass 500A through it regularly... holds up excellent)

ok so u got 0 gauge wire right i thought on most amps the lowest u could go would be 2gauge...

So going lower wouldn't hurt the amp??

if not i gotta get me some off that ..I got the industrial strength 4gauge wire you know with the big copper rods in them..very hard to work wt..

Well im gonna tell ya something about thoes copper rods. They are extremely and I mean extremely susceptible to Voltage drops and noise. I was using 4au home depot wire for almost 6 months when I finally got around to testing it and I was having an enourmous amount of loss and replacing the wire put an amazing about of vigor back into my system at the time.

I suggest you def do get some new wire.

ANd no 0 gauge won't hurt the amp. The main concern is just cost effectiveness. Your chassis would be considered an amazingly think gauge of wire and you use it for ground and it carries the same current that your power line does

good thing i kept my reciept, i guess i'll look at that welding.com wire, actually i cut it so i don't know if they'll take it back, i'll try it first and if i notice any losses i'll switch, it looks pretty good though..
