Ways to improve my rig?

After many hours of research and asking around on here, I finally got some stuff installed in my car. Here is the setup (as far as I can remember):

Pioner HD Radio headunit

Kicker 6x8 two-way coaxial speakers in front and back

Kicker 1000.1 amp

two 4-ohm 10" Alpine Type R subwoofers in a small, closed box.

When i got this all installed there was apparently a problem with my amp/subwoofer setup (even though the installers helped me pick everything out). They said that my amp could only run at 1ohm or 4ohms since my subs are both 4ohm. They said that meant it wouldnt be pushing as much as it could.

So are there any suggestions on how to improve this rig? Im pretty happy with it for now, but I'm still searching for that crazy tight, crazy fast bass sound. Mine are fairly fast, but not whee i want them to be. So lemme have it, experts.

what model kicker is it kx zx or what because i dont think its 1 ohm capable

so they may have lied to you about wiring it at 1 ohm or they are dumb and are going to burn your amp up

Maybe they are running it at 4ohms then, I'm not sure. I just really wanted these type r's to work. I thought I got the right amp but apparently not :/ They must be running at 4ohms.

Im confused why the 'installers' helped you pick everything out, and then informed you that you purchased an amp that is not capable of full performance with the subs they also helped you pick out.
