Watt meter for amp rack...

Has anyone thought about adding one of these to your amp racks so you can see your peak wattage output by your amp,also it might look good incorporated into your racks.

expensive. just get a cap or something off of ebay with a digital meter for cheaper than that. Cap's may not be all that they're cracked up to be, but you'll get the meter and at least some other benefit for the same price or even cheaper.

I'd use an AC clamp meter for that, instead of a shunt-fed ammeter.

Use Ohm's Law to figure out the rest.

Since I don't plan on being in the trunk when the system is playing and I don't care how many watts I'm putting into the speakers anyway...I guess if you're into bragging about how much wattage you're pushing but I think that you would be sadly disappointed when you find out that your 2kW uber amp is really only putting out around 500W with music.
