I was installing speakers today and poured a cup of water on my truck to see if i had any leaks and water came into my door? Is this normal?? The water is inbetween the outside wall of the truck and the inside wall that the door panel attaches too. idk what could be wrong idk if this is normal or not please help.

the water came in and looked like it followed the "guide" for the window to come down to. the only thing i messed with is the rubber gasket/boot looking thing that the wires go through from inside the door to inside the cab.

This happens on both doors and idk why

Your door should have small holes on the bottom of it to empty out water..but yeah it shouldn't be pouring down like that
yes, i found the holes for it to drain. I just dont understand why so much would be coming in with the simple pour of a cup. Could the rubber boot thing that the wire goes to and from the cab cause water to go inside?

every car gets water in the door. the seals at the window are not water tight. they are designed to reduce water but not eliminate it. they mostly guide the window. verify the window seal is not broken - i.e. torn off in places. take a pic and post.

yes, water in the door is normal. that is why every factory speakers has a baffle to protect the speaker. and why any good door speaker install should replicate that. most installs don't, but most installs are sub-par.

The water does seem to run down the windows guide and yes my factory speaker did have a plastic cover of its magnet and all.

I researched it a lil more and it seems that although weird to me that this is a common problem with windows. Only thing I can do is to get a speaker baffle to protect the speakers I'm putting in
