it looks convincing ....... I dont see how they could get em to be that noticably loud though

I think those guys hit ~146db with only 200w with that setup. The box has reportedly 42 seperate pieces of wood inside that brace and allow the sound wave to help to reach that SPL. If you want to read more, read this thread:

it's a awesome install and it's very possible to get 6.5"s to be that loud if your a vet and know your stuff. hell loyd isn't the loudest guy in the world but for only 2 amps and 4 12"s holding a flat bl curve doing within like 2db's from 30-50hz or something like that wow. basically no offense but 97% of people will never have that much knowledge to build that box. it's simply amazing what people can do.

It's called a snailshell design...I think it looks like a Tapered quarter wave....

Supposedly it has quite a gain over ported...especially on the low end...
