That RF came outta my bro's SE-R Spec-V. Its a dual 2 Im pretty sure, cuz the amp powering it was 1ohm.

They are coils. They block high frequencies and rob power from your sub. Better used as paper weights.

It's not "ghetto". Just a passive lowpass filter rather than an "active" lowpass filter (like is found in amplifiers, HU's, etc).

Same thing used in component sets to lowpass the midwoofer......

Someone said the amp must be old since its using coil....well its a 2003 Sentra SE-R Spec-V w the RF System except now it has a GM-3000T running a GTO804 in the enclosure that the lil 8" RF came out of. His current HU is some Kenwood without a sub control/preout so it isnt sounding like it can. He just turns the bass up (bad idea) to get the sub to even be noticable. Since the bass turns up bass for all fronts/rears/sub at same time...problem will be fixed in 3 weeks.

He's getting the same HU I have for Christmas cuz he "thinks its cool." (I have a 9853 btw..I got it wanted more bands to use for my eq rather than previous 3 I had on my p7600mp)
