Waste of Money??

Would buying 1 pair of 10' Kicker Subs that have a peak power of 600 watts be a waste to buy if they are only being powered by a 300 watt 2 channel amp?

I have a spare 2 channel Rockford 300 watt laying around that I wanted to put to use (I currently have no subwoofers) so I wanted to use this amp. But I don't want to get woofers that would be overkill on the amp.

it wont hurt the amp unless you're expecting to much out of it and you turn it up so much that it clips.

Look for something used. THere is a ton of people selling stuff and I'll bet you can find some great subs for cheap as opposed to new if thats what you were thinking.

I don't think the subs are the problem. You're not going to find many subs that will wang off of a 300x2 amp. He needs a bigger amp.

I imagine the subs you're talking about are 300wrms? I think they'd be alright running off of a 300x2. They're not going to blow you away, but they'd be alright.

Yea they are 300wrms, sorry about that. I think I might just stick with the 300x2 amp I have, I am not lookin to BLOW away anyone, just get some nice added bass in my system.
