Besides all the rest of your post that is mostly B.S. this caught my attention. What rights were taken away? The rights of southerners to own slaves?? Which in that respect, what about the slaves' right for freedom?? I guess I'm not following you on this.Slavery was about to be abolished, there was now machinery available that could do the work. Every other country did it without a civil war. That war was about states rights. This was bloodshed for nothing, It was the first step of a big federal gov't taking our rights away. The jews would not be dead because of hitler, they would have been deported. This whole holocaust thing is still being debated by historians.
As far as WWII, we should have never been involved, but I'm sure thats above your comprehension. Your 5th grade history education doesn't tell the whole story.
Actually it has been pretty much proven that Hussein had NOTHING to do with 9/11. That was pretty much why the current administration came up with the whole WMD story so they could try to justify going into Iraq with OR without UN approval. Which we did so without approval. Also, it isn't our job or right to take down a leader of another country regardless of HOW he runs his country. Everyone saw what Hitler was doing during WWII and yet we didn't go in there until we were provoked by the Japs at Pearl Harbor.conspiracy theories aside, assuming the story is correct that it was saddam and osama that attacked us on 9/11. ur telling me we should of just ignored them and they would of gone away? i love what we did. hey, you messed with us so we came and took your country, simple as that. hey in the end maybe an iraqi can wake up and decide what he wants to do with his day like we do instead of worrying about how they are going to survive with a dictator that is so heartless he kills his own family. My best friend whos there right now said that for every person that throws rocks at them their are more that run up to them and give them hugs crying because we saved their lives. I'm proud to be american, are you?
Exactly, this guy is going to do time.If you still debate the Holocaust, you need to be admitted to a psych ward.
didnt we end up getting approval from the UN eventually? WMD story? all through the George Bush Sr's term and clintons terms he did nothing but threaten to do shit to us. marched in the streets with weapons and said that he had them. we gave him more than 10 yrs to get rid of them and W was the only pres with the balls to do something about it. if i gave you 10 yrs to hide something wouldnt you find a good place for them haha. now keep in mind when all that was happening i was still in grade school so im sure the details i understand are very general but im pretty sure thats the jist of what happened.Actually it has been pretty much proven that Hussein had NOTHING to do with 9/11. That was pretty much why the current administration came up with the whole WMD story so they could try to justify going into Iraq with OR without UN approval. Which we did so without approval. All in all, I'm VERY proud to be an American. Which is why I want to see OUR country do the right thing. History should tell you that WE (America) have not always been the good guy.
why not consider it "fighting for our freedom"? would you feel free if we lived in a country that everyday you had to wonder if today was the day that we got hit by that missile that we let a crazy dictator have? see people think were arrogant because at some point in history we decided that all countries had to be like us and be a democracy and be free. i think it would be arrogant to think the opposite. i think it would be wrong of us not to help suffering people under a dictators rule that does nothing but make his own people miserable. as a superpower its our duty to help out the little guy that cant fight for himself.I guess you and I just look at things a little different than one another. I see where you're coming from but I still disagree. But as Americans that is our right.
Edit: No, we never got UN approval. We just went in anyway. That is why France didn't go with us. Pretty much just the U.S. and England. There may have been a couple others but that is pretty much the jist.
Also, don't confuse what we're doing over in Iraq with "fighting for our freedom". They are 2 very different things.
No, I don't worry about those things at all. We are as you say, a superpower. I'm not too worried about a dictator coordinating something like that. A terrorist organization, they ARE capable of such things as has already been proven. But again, there were NO links between them and Hussein found. Not only that, Hussein didn't have the capabilities to go intercontinental regardless of what Fox News (the spreader of lies) says.why not consider it "fighting for our freedom"? would you feel free if we lived in a country that everyday you had to wonder if today was the day that we got hit by that missile that we let a crazy dictator have?
Others think we're arrogant because we try to impose our will or way of life in their face. I do agree with helping suffering people and if that would have been the reason we went into Iraq I may be able to accept it. But it clearly isn't the reason at all.see people think were arrogant because at some point in history we decided that all countries had to be like us and be a democracy and be free. i think it would be arrogant to think the opposite. i think it would be wrong of us not to help suffering people under a dictators rule that does nothing but make his own people miserable. as a superpower its our duty to help out the little guy that cant fight for himself.
Wait................so which is it?? Are we there to set up shop or to fight for freedom.?? I'm confused as you have contradicted yourself.but seriously though a couple of my marine, army buddies have all said the same thing. we never feared saddam. we went into iraq cause we knew wed be able to get away with capturing him and letting him stand trial and then being able to set up shop in afghanistan and iraq so we could keep an eye on iran.
Our current president has a bad habit of using the cowboy "all guns blazin'" mentality with foreign policy. Like his speech " bring'em on" . He, himself has admitted that wasn't a good idea. But anyway, you'd be surprised what happens when an American president uses diplomacy and communication for foreign relations instead. If we have the right guy in office this "inevitable war" you speak of may not be so inevitable.irans leader is the one we fear. hes the one were really worried about. the war with iran is inevitable. hopefully its untrue but so far all signs are pointing toward it.
