Wanta to upgrade just speakers in my Venza, recommendations ?

Hey guys, we recently purchased '11 Toyota Venza with stock stereo and I'm pretty dissapointed with the audio system in a $40k car, whether the stock or the upgraded JBL package system, real disapointment.

I want to upgrade the stock speakers only, as this is mainly my fiance's car to work and our family car for trips.

Anyway I'm looking to upgrade the stock speakers, we listen to everything from techno to rock, I like warm sounds, no harsh sounding speakers, something laid back that can work well on factory unit.

ive got some new bravox speakers for your car and some ppi tweets.120 plus shipping.bravox are the cxx models 40 watts rms on the 6.5 and 50 on the 6x9s,tweets aren't really nothin special but they are new and a good brand.160 shipped for all of it

Do you have a budget in mind? I would look into boston acoustic , look for speakers that handle around 35w rms if you only plan on running of h.u. power

Maybe $300 for whole set, no point in spending too much if these will just run off HU

Should I got for 3-way or 2-way ? because recent post on venza forum below confused me a bit.

thats because you basically have 6x9 componets in front. like these:MB Quart PVL 269 (PVL269) 6" x 9" 2-Way Premium Component Speaker

No, I'm asking I just quoted someone else, and I'm just an amateur so I don't really understand what he meant.

So 3 way is a no no ?
