Want to use a 4 channel amp with 2 bridged speakers. Is this wiring correct?

Hi there,

my amp is a rockford P500X4D

I would like to know if this wiring setup is correct if I have a 2 channel audio source, and want to use 2 speakers. Since they are 8 OHM and take a lot of power, i want to bridge. Is the following setup correct?

(This forum blocks the wiring diagram because i am new: This is the url: i.imgur.com/vm6KXid.png)

I am unsure... Does the FRONT output magically become the LEFT output and the REAR output become the RIGHT output? Somehow, this does not make sense in my mind... Unfortunately, I cannot find information about wiring this (imho simple) setup in the documentation.

You have to feed both front and rear inputs on the amp. Use a 'Y' RCA adapter cable to connect the source left channel to both L + R on the amp front inputs, and another Y adapter to connect the right source to both rear inputs.

don't worry about an 8 ohm load, amplifiers LOVE that - damping factor goes up, THD goes down, heat goes down, etc.

as mentioned, with the amp in 2-ch input mode you don't need splitters.

if the amp has separate gain adjustments (should) use a DMM to get them equal (measure VAC)

I had the exact same thought but I read the manual and the 2ch button is to facilitate the ability to run all four channels with only the front RCA inputs being fed. It's counterintuitive. He would actually need to run splitters and leave it in 4ch mode.
Kudos galore for pushing the 8ohm thing, I love running 8ohm drivers. So many people get hung up on this and really miss out on some great drivers.

Actually, nevermind... I just thought that over again and realized I need more coffee. 2ch mode would in fact facilitate dual bridged operation. Sorry...
