want meter?

i wanna get my own db meter so i can play and tune my systems and my friends system and have local db comps just for fun to win the grand prize of bragging rights! it dont gotta be the best in the world, dont gotta be a term lab just something i can throw on the lap top and get numbers that are accurate within 1db if its off a . or 2 i can live with that. but i dont wanna spen 500 bucks on one. i know noone within 50 miles of me hits over 165s so it dont even have to be capable of metering above that. i seen some online for like 100bucks that go up to 136db but thats not good enough. anyone got any recommendations? and where to but them? and how much would a term lab cost. and what all do i need to hook the thing up and it tell my what frequensies are playing, like i throw a song on and when the bass hits it tells me what hz that wave is? this might be a waste of thread space and it might be a dumb ? to some but i just really want my own meter cuase my buddy at the local shop gives me a discount to tune and stuff but still charges me 20bucks to hook the meter up for a 30min. test play to tune and sh*t. thanks for any info on this matter.

term labs ARE $500. audio controls can be even more expensive.

best bet is to save up for a TL. but if your like me, id rather put that 5 bones towards my audio instead of a meter.

have 4 more of your buddies chip in $100 a piece if their serious about it.

def true, i didnt realize they cost that much. 5loaves good get me a better amp, better subs, or one hell of a 220amp alt! thanks for the reality check i think ill just stick to payin my buddy 20 bucks to use it for an hour. i guess thats why he charges to use it so he can make some of his money back!
