Want 3.5 mm output stereo plug on car receiver.

wire cutters/strippers, and a soldering iron.

Shouldn't hurt anything to wire a female 3.5mm cable in series with the pre-amp outputs.

Don't know what you're trying to accomplish though - to get any volume to the headphones you'd have to have the rest of the system blasting too -- unless you had the remote turn on's on a switch so you could turn off the amps and listen only to the headphones.

But all this begs the question -- why not just use a portable source (mp3 player) instead of your car's HU?

Doesn't sound like it would work b/c you would have to turn the volume up; therefore, the speakers would go up as well. Is there not a female 3.5 mm with a volume control, that you could adjust seperately?

The reason for this is she wants FM radio. The car antenna gets much better reception- especially out of town. A regular walkman won't get very good reception in the car out of town though.

Thanks.
