??? even when i highlight the link and either manually delete the tag or click the remove link button the tags reappear on the post preview.

Well, Im not gonna stop you.
Must all be marked with the "!" image I have shown, and be UNLINKED.

Unlinked means that an image or video must not be img [/img tagged]. just the link.

Now, if you use imageshack or photobucket you will get yourself and possibly this forum blocked from using them in the future. So, find a host that allows pron uploads.
