Walled Focus rebuild

man doors are looking good.i like them amps also but wow they shut down with 15v ....

ya them tweeters look loud.. lol..

how do they sound ?

Yes Brazilian amps don't like 15+ volts. They makes their rated power at 12.6 volts.

My 10k is rated 10k at 12.6 volts. At 13.8 its rated 12,000 rms.

The horns are stupid loud. They are crossed at 2k and sound pretty good. Deff not an SQ setup horn. Just a stupid loud setup. Last show had a couple PRV demo vehicles and the Mclaren van. They were nasty.

PRV and Mclaren on two opposite sides of the huge field and playing with each other. It was amazing how loud they are with mid bass as well.

My Taramps HD3000 should be here next week. Will be running it at 2ohms on the 4 10"s until I get 4 more 10"s for the trunk lid. Does 3600rms at 1ohm and 2400 at 2ohms.

Almost done with the doors.

So ive been thinking about how you guys glass in speakers to pretty much float on your door panel(door card). unless you excessively deadened it, wouldnt your door panel rattle like crazy when they play. Also, does the magnets of the speaker stick into anything when you put the door panel back on?

My doors have been fully deadened for years. If I need more I have more laying around. The magnets fit perfectly and don't hit anything. Made sure before glassing the doors.

The fiberglass made the panels super stiff and I have the backs spray foamed.

I don't think they will ever NOT rattle though. A wall on 10k is going to rattle lol

Ive never used fiberglass but from ive seen. The resin looks like it would add good weight to the panel. Can you show a pic of the back?

How about the actual SQ of it all. im an sq guy and im thinking i want to glass my doors and put the 6.5 on axis but that would mean putting the speaker on the door panel which effectively makes it no longer sealed to the actual metal part of the door.

No comment on the Sound quality. I don't do sound quality.

turned out well, i like it. id love to learn how to doors like that one day but it just seems like it takes so much time.
Thanks man. It was a good learning experience. Got frustrated a few times but I'm glad I did it. Looking forward to doing my trunk lid now.

Still not done with them but wanted to hear them. Midbass is stupid! Only running them off 2 channels on one of my 800x4s right now. Ill bridge them tomorrow on one 800x4. Should have the HD3000 for them next week.

you can still seal the door from the cabin, sealing to the metal is pretty much the same thing anyway unless you fill all the gaps in the metal

should be pretty ridiculous lol i doubt you'll need to be at half volume to be at normal listening levels. always nice to have that headroom. how do you end up running those? I've considered 2 ohms in series bridged or two 8 ohms parallel but pa mids seem to always come in 4 and 8.

I have 3 PAC LC1 gain knobs so I can dial in what volumes I like for the subs, mids, and horns.

They will all be ran parallel to the HD3000 for a 2ohm load mono.

I'm arriving way late to the scene, but I'm interested to hear what you thought of with your last wall (HDC3 and 2200s). What did you like and dislike? I don't know if your a numbers guy, but did you ever meter?

The last wall was great. Just upgrading. I did meter it once but that was after I popped a 2200 and was only running on one. Clamped 1400rms at 2ohms after rise did a 147.5 ish IIRC at 42hz. On the two 2200s Id say it was a 150 or very close. Ive had 5 HDC3 subwoofers. They are the best bang for your buck IMO.
