wal-mart road hazard question

UPDATE: I just called my local walmart and they pulled up (by my name & phone number) my tire size, brand, etc etc but that's all it shows, they can't see where i've bought the road hazard. I've traded my tires 3-4 times (flats, etc etc) and always had my receipts and it's all went through with no problems at all.
I was talking to my boss about it (im at work) and a customer walked up (retired from working in a local tire shop) and asked what happened to my tire. I explained to him that I have a bubble in my sidewall and that walmart couldn't pull up my road hazard coverage and he said that the road hazard is for when you hit a spike, run over a nail, etc etc. But a bubble in my sidewall is a manufacturer defect and that I could call goodyear and explain my case and they should take care of it for me. I just emailed goodyear so we'll see what comes of it.
how fucking convenient

i dont know if i would go through goodyear... you should be able to get walmart to replace it... you can usually get them to replace/refund anything if you try hard enough

update #2:

Ok, went to "jims tire and brake" to have them take my tire off my rim so i could take it to walmart and trade it in for my new tire (walmart here doesn't have machines for 20" tires), guy at walmart takes my tire out of my truck, sees the bubble on the sidewall and says to another walmart guy "we can call this a manaf. defect", we go inside and the manager says the tire's bead is ripped and they can't cover that under my "road hazard" plan, (should have been a manaf. defect shouldn't it??) so they measure my tread, and knock off $60 off a $140 tire (should have been free right??)

The automotive manager told me that he wasn't going to sell me the road hazard on my new tire because if walmart couldn't mount the tire on my rim, they wouldn't warranty it. I told him the walmart I bought it from DID have the machines so he finally decided to sell me the road hazard.

I got to thinkin.....These tires are close to 2 years old, if someone ripped the bead on them, wouldn't I instantly know??? PLUS---THE TAHLEQUAH WALMART MOUNTED THEM!! If one walmart mounts them, and say they did rip the bead and it lasted almost 2 years, wouldn't walmart cover that seeing as how another walmart did it????? Im pretty pissed now as I had to pay $99 for a tire that should have been free, I had plans for that money....

So I call my dad (lives in tahlequah), explain what happened and he calls the tahlequah automotive manager-guy says, bring the old tire in and i'll look at it and see if I can call it a manaf. defect, so dad tells me to go get my old tire back (they always ask him if he wants his old ones back) So I go back to walmart, ask for it back and guy says "We're sendin it back to the manaf. plus we pro rated your tread so we can't give it back to you"....If they didn't call it a manaf. defect, why is it goin back to goodyear????

Can anyone give me some advice on what to do???? Thanks again for all the help guys

Bottom line, WalMart Tire & Lube Express sucks pecker.

I bought the Road Hazard Warranty for 8 tires (2 cars at once), after being reassured that it would cover me at any WalMart across the country, provided I kept my paperwork. I knew I was moving soon, so that's why I asked.

Fast forward a few months... in Michigan, they rotate my tires when I get my oil changed for free, but it usually takes them over an hour to do it (retarded), all the while they treat me like scum for asking for it.

Fast forward a year or so... now I'm in North Carolina and my local WalMart tells me first that they can't honor my road hazard because I don't have a copy of my warranty paperwork... which I must not have gotten, since everything they gave me at purchase time was in a yellow envelope which went right into my glovebox. So I tell them where I bought the warranty (Poteau, OK), and they said that they couldn't help me, that I'd have to get in contact with the store I bought them at and have them pull up the work order and fax it to them to prove it. This is IN SPITE OF my having my receipt for the purchase and the original paperwork that shows the tires and warranty being purchased. ALSO the receipt. For some reason they say that isn't enough...

So, I raise enough hell that they agree to do the simple f***ing rotation while I get my oil changed... 2.5 hours later, I go back to check on my car and find out they just finished my oil change, but haven't done the tires yet. So I said screw it, I need to leave. I arrived prior to 9AM and it's now nearly noon by the time I leave.

Since then, every time I've come in to have this taken care of they tell me it's going to be a minimum of 2-3 hours to get it done. WTF am I supposed to do in WalMart for 3 f***ing hours????

Now I do all my oil changes elsewhere, and my tires still haven't been rotated.

F*** Wally World Tire & Automotive.

you're from poteau?? I used to live there! Small world.

From now on, i'm only going to the walmart in tahlequah (they have machines to mount 20's) and they seem waaay better than my local walmart (mcalester)
