Finally Has Bass Again
This stems from a conversation in crunktimes.

But, I have come to realize that my local bank has to be on some sort of methamphetamine.

So, I currently have these two choices to choose from. My city of 50k only has 3 different banks(Wachovia, BB&T, and Bank of America) that I can think of that aren't local/smaller ones or credit unions.

I'd like to know which you would pick (or have picked) and why you like them.

Thanks,

BD

Bank of America... I see them around more.
For some reason they aren't around me a lot.

Yes, there are a few. But, i figure that when I move to a bigger city (sometime this fall) I wont have to worry about it.

there may actually be an equal distribution between the two. Hell Wachovia may actually have more in the bigger 100k+ cities that I frequent.

if you don't need to deposit to a branch, then locations don't matter...i use direct deposit for pay, transfer's online, and i get free withdrawals from any atm if i need cash
I'm still at the age where I actually like to cash my check. The branches really dont matter to me.

I could care less.

But, I do value your opinion. Have honestly ever had any issues where you were unhappy with them?

BofA is the great satan, Seriously, I they are by far the worst bank I have ever used, or should I say used me. they are huge, and you are just a number, you recieve all the attention that that number demands, which is very little, unless your an hour late with your CC payment. My brother has been with Wachovia for about 5 years and he as not had any complaints yet, at least that he has convayed to me. Plus Bank of America was started by women for women, and is still run by women. (not that there is anything wrong with that)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i have not had any issues, i have actually WAY overdrawn, i went into a branch to sit down with one of the most pleasant ladies i have ever met, and she refunded all of my charges and allowed me to deposit the difference:D

edit: i really need to work on the d@mn commas

I have dealt with most of the big ones you mentioned and they used to have really high fees for everything such as using too many checks a month, $3.00 to withdraw ATM money etc.

I have always had good luck with the smaller credit unions where they give you free debit cards, checks, money orders and sometimes a free tent or folding chair too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If there a reason you want a big name bank over a smaller one, If they all give free everything then I guess it does not matter the only thing I can think of is some charge a lot more for bounced checks should it happen by accident, but I honestly can't remember the last time I used a chek for anything other than getting cash out of the bank teller and even that is limited so I probably actually go into the bank 2-3 times a year 99% of my things are done online via direct deposit etc and I just use my debit card as cash.

I agree, small 'local' banks have always yeilded the best results for me. I used one in topeka called kaw valley bank & trust.

every time i went in, they knew who i was. no fees for going under my minimum balance, no wait, everyone was always kind, detailed/consistent banking reports... fast accurate answers. they always held themselves accountable. only had one error EVER in the time i actively banked there. i did not catch it myself, the teller caught it, documented it, and send me a hand written apology and explanation... that is the kind of **** that i am more than happy to pay money for.

Ok. These Bug signatures should be forbidden to be used in signatures on forums:

I can't believe I fell for it.

Anyways, Bank of America all the way!

Consider yourselves lucky then.
My local bank does retarded stuff to me. On top of that they took 100 from a friend of mine as well.
You always have recourse. Confront them about the errors. If the problems are not resolved, take your money elsewhere. I know you dont like confrontation... so do it over the phone if you must. Just get it done.

Thats probably what I'll do.

There's no real point in being an angry black man in a bank. I could get arrested or something.

But, I'm probably going to keep my account there anyway. But, get another for my daily needs.

I've had one too many mishaps with my account.
