I sent an email to TB speakers asking what a proper ported box would be

and they sent this back where can plug all this in to get an idea

thanks for any help

and this will be for TWO subs going in a expy

Vb = Box volume (convert liters to cubic feet)

Fb = Tuning frequency

Dv = Port diameter (100mm = 4" round port)

Lv = Port length

They basically said you need an enclosure with a net volume of .7 cubes (about 1 cube gross) with a single 4" port (flared preferred) 26" long which will give a tuning of 39hz.

thanks for the info if its going to only be about 1 square foot for two I just might have to go with four LOL!!!
