I live in the great white north and the retail cost at the local JL dealer is almost 3000 dollars for 1 13 W7.

My best advice is listen to both, go with what YOU want!Not what someone over the internet tells you to go with.

all the JL setups I've heard I don't like. They don't sound good. That and JL is overpriced as hell.

You should see what they charge for basic enclosures, 350 bucks for a basic MDF ported box for 2 12's was my last quote.

Thats with no bracing, no custom touches, just a basic rectangular box.

JL 12W0 goes for 300 bucks

JL 250.1 class D 500 bucks

A shitty set of kicks will cost from 500 to 900 bucks.

The prices on amplifiers will flat out make you cry, a common 1200 watt class D will go for 1500 bucks.

4 gauge install kit will run you 140 bucks

1 farad capacitor for 200 without any bells and wistles.

Depends on how loud the rest of the competition is, you'd be in the 140's though with two D912's and 2k rms

When they dont know that there are better and more subs out there that can get better output.

You might find a sub that has more output than a W7, and you might find a sub that you think has better SQ than a W7.....but you'll have a hard time finding another sub on the market that flat out does both better than a W7.

JL's not overpriced. If they were overpriced, they'd have been out of business a long time ago because they wouldn't be selling any gear.

dude, if you want some serious thump, feed a w7 1,000 watts or more in a ported box. Could hear it in a truck coming about 5 blocks away, and that wasn't near as loud as it was capable. If you're looking for sq, I'd start looking elsewhere, as the 3 I've heard were all installed in the same truck/car (rich friend:S) and they didn't sound good for anything but rap, although I attribute some of that to the ported boxes. He put the 13 in an Audi, and has since went to an mb quart in a sealed and likes it much better.

W7's all the way!! King of the hill from all others are judged! Nothing out performs it on the market today in SQL. Don't listen to the haters and complainers that can't admit the pure sonic performance from the W7. I've had just about every setup in my many many years in car audio and the W7 is the real deal. If you can't afford it then maybe you should re-think your career choice!
