well i personally have heard all of these drivers & in my opinion they all sound better than the w7. i know several compeditors that have gotten rid of w7s & went to the fi or ascendant audio & they way outdo them in spl. have you heard any of these other subs. if not, i can understand why you have your opinion. not saying that jl is not a good product. i am saying that there is better for the $$$.

W7 are a great subwoofer first generation of tall speakers and still up with some of the best after all these years. I have two md3d going to two 13w7 and they are pushing harder and harder to those amps.I would love to put the merlin amps to the XXX speakers,I finally saw a 12 inch and it is a beast.
