Only Re Mx and xxx are made in the US. Their amps and speakers and their cheaper subs are all no longer made in the us. They say "designed and engineered in the us." That is just another way of saying some kid in a sweatshop is building it in a third world communist country.

at least 7-12 subs that I have owned would trash a w7 in sq and spl and most def in price...

The w7 is a great woofer but you gotta remember install is key. You can make a w7 sound like sh!t if your install sux

Ive been thinking of getting a W7 or a CVX for my ZX 1500. I love my L5's but miss the SQ factor alot. Cant decide though????

re, si, ia, fi, ascendant audio all are better sq, & outperforms the w7 & more bang for the buck. jl is a good product. but $$$

Not gonna lie, I dont see what makes a sub woofer bad if its made by chinease (spelling) hands vs american hands. Outsourcing is a proven way to lower cost to the end user and since so many people here are talking about how price is the issue I dont see how a sub made in china is a negative thing other than to our working industry but we compensate our imports with exports so it helps another industry by bringing in china made subs. Im a fan off JL but in the same sense I am also a fan of money. I like money more than JL= ill buy other brands before I buy any more Jl's.

Their speakers are made overseas, different parts of the world depending on the line question, but the subs are all made in Miramar, FL.

As far as sounding "better," there are only a handful of subs that actually match the W7 in the realm of low distortion output.. Those subs that can match it, also match it or exceed it in price as well. That most people don't like the sound of a super low distortion driver is another issue entirely

Saying that one sub sounds better than another with no measurements to back it up is like saying that green looks better than blue...(which it does, BTW)

Nothing jl makes is made in china. Their subs are made in florida and some of their speakers are made in germany. now i dont like germany either but as far as quality, the german assembly is good.
