I think I love UPS
Whats up, Im new to da forum. I have found two subs i am interested in gettin. The first is the a single 12 or 13w7 with the jl 1000/1. The other is 2 10" resonant engineering sx's that have mt parts that can take 1500 watts a piece rms. One of these will be in a 93 rx7 hatchback. I wanted to know what experiences people had wit dese subs. I know dey are different subs for sq/spl but Im lookin for a sub that'll hit hard. How much difference will dere be in SPL and SQ people who have experience only (heard or owned), I want people to know im comin. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif Peace E

First welcome, second please use proper english feal me dog aight.

There will be a nite and day difference in SQ and SPL. Will not even be close by a long shot. Maybe if you would compare two identical speakers a more discriptive reply could be used.

If you want opinions on what would be a better setup. That all depends on what you think is better. In a proper setup the two SX's have more output potential. So is louder a better setup for you?

What woud u get then? Im open for opinions... Im lookin for some serious bass. let me know what I should get to get some hard bass its gonna be loud cause its in a hatch. I can get the sxs for 300 or one w7 for around 400 w/ box. Also lookin at idmax, treo ssi's, n xxx. xxx are hard to find and new aint coming out till Feb at $600 according to a rep. To much for me until they come down! Someone give me opinions in for a 93 rx7. Later E //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

Cool man. How much power do you think they will need? Im trying the english thing anyway. He said he hit 153 in the world spl finals with them at 1500 a piece rms. Should i put that to them I can probably get a earthquake 3000w for a decent price or just go with the factory sx rms rating at 2000w. Other opinions will be reviewed because im not buying them till next pay check. Thanks Later E

If you do not plan on competing stick with 1000 each. Just because they can handle 1500 each does not mean you have to feed them that much all the time. If you do want to try for some SPL runs then you are going to need 1500 each minimum.

Remember 2000+ watts of power will require electrical upgrades to your vehicle. Battery, power/ground wire, alternator.

And make sure not to go cheap on your amp selection. do some searching on the forum and look for ideas in your budget.

Yea I think im gonna stick with the 2000 will I have to upgrade alternator, etc. I will get a gell battery before I hook it up. Know any good companies, optima does not carry a battery for my car. I think I am going to go with a US amp, Earthquake, Memphis, or a Soundstream depending on the best price. Later E

Optima does not make vehicle specific batteries. Just ensure it will fit in your engine bay. Look at the red tops.

With 2000 watts a new HO alt will probably be required. And if your willing to go that far a deep cycle battery in the trunk.

When I looked up my car on optima.com it said they had no batteries for my car. I thought the yellow tops were more for performance? Know anyone who rebuilds alternators? I have heard 2 batteries only prolongs parking lot play time? Thanks for your help. BigE

Don't worry about Optima's web site. Yellow tops are deep cycle. They can be drained and re-charged without effecting the life of the battery. Red tops are starting batteries, and are better suited for under the hood. Unless you plan on playing your system with the car off a lot a red top under the hood will be fine. Only purchase a yellow if you plan on playing it with the car off.

I would not have your alt re-built. Normally they tend to do a piss pore job. And will only squeeze another 20-30 amps out of it. Rather look in to some manufacturers that make an alt for your vehicle.
