By the way, there are subs that can do just as well/maybe better as a W7, given the right install.
that phoenix gold sub is the TI elite.... and there is still better for the money than the w7 and that......if you do your shopping, or you could be a moron and buy them.....

i just heard a pair of those new pg's in daytona friday they look preatty mean an they impressed me.
overpriced? find me another sub for $550 that will be comparable to the W7. not many out there has the same price tag as the 12W7, well maybe the beyond audio inhuman, but the W7 will kill it in SQ anyways. one of the best engineered subwoofer has to have a price tag on it, and it ain't suppose to be pretty. people always compare the JL's retail price to other companie's sales price..why? why not compare sales price to sales price? are people doing that just to widen the gap some more? it doesn't make sense. i don't believe there is any better for the price (SQ). better value? yes. better for the price? no.
heck..for the price of the W7, i know i can go out and buy 457834957 thump speakers and out SPL the W7's. you can always buy X amount of X speakers that will beat that one single Y speaker.

The only flaw in your logic is that the W7 isn't crap. Pound for pound it's one of the best subs on the market, if not the best. It might be hard for all you JL haters to admit, but it's the truth. It may be overpriced, but that doesnt change the fact that its simply an amazing subwoofer.
