W6v2 H.O. Wedge

I was just wondering if either the W6v2 H.O. Wedge or the W7 H.O. Wedge in the 12" would be loud enough for me in a tahoe or avalanche. I want a something that can be able to get louder than I want and be heard(felt) cruisin' down the street //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

A guy I talked to said the High output system would be louder than 2 of the same subs in a ported box with the same power.....Any suggestions?

the H.O Wedge box is almost as expensive as a 10w7. But if you have the cash, by all means.

Duno about the wanting to piss off everyone coming down the street, or "felt" But look into the SI Mags, the FI BTL's, or some of the other subs u can read about thathas a good rep on the forums.

Pretty much the creme de la creme in subwoofers....look into TC sounds as well.

not worth the price, you could get one built for for ~$125 by someone on this forum and it would outperform it.

I had a 12w7 in the H.O. JL box in a Expedition. It actually slammed and sounded clean too. I don't have any experience with SI or BTL but the JL did slam.

JL's, especially the W7's, are great subwoofers. Very, very good subs. However, they aren't a god-like sub like many people (IE. Shop owners (though they have a reason), and those uninformed) make them out to be. There are several other subs out there that will perform on par with them, and several more that will outperform them. And, chances are, they cost alot less. Look into the SI Mags (http://www.stereointegrity), Fi BTL's (http://www.ficaraudio.com). Hell, even the 2006 RE XXX's can be had for less than a W7 (if you buy it retail, not on eBay). Any of the aforementioned subs will outperform the W7, install dependent of course.

The H.O. box is a very well engineered box. However, like before, a properly designed and built enclosure can be had for a fraction of the cost and will perform on par, if not above the H.O. box.

That being said, I'd look elsewhere. However, if you have the cash, go ahead and get the W7 with the H.O. box; you won't be dissapointed, although your wallet may burn a little.

the W7 has become a bragging right for those who dont know anything besides what they see in a regular audio shop.

Okay I'll definately check those out, but just going by what I know right now, do you guys like DD's? It seems to me like they are all about SPL and little SQ, but I don't know and they're not talked about much...

id say look at the lms series and the tc-3000 tc sound series if you want sq and still get very loud... fi btl to get really really loud....
