What set-up would you guys choose...

Alpine PDX 600.1 - 13" JL W6

Alpine PDX 600.1 - 10" JL W7

I'm planning my first system now and I really want it to be kick ***...

I'm focused on utilizing Alpine/JL/Focal for the 2 comps, 1 sub and 2 amps..

I've got a budget of up to $2,500.. but the less I spend the more money I have for installation..

Let me know ASAP

i would go with the 13w6v2. They're known to sound as good or even better than the w7s.

You should also get more output with the same wattage since you'll have more cone area.

stick with one good comp up front. and have more money into the source unit.

I have a 13w6v2 on a JL 500/1 and I couldn't be happier, it has amazing sound quality, but at the same time still gets loud and deep. I would choose the SQ of the w6 over the SPL of the w7 any day.

lol..not bad choices but definitely not kick ***. and the w7 would be better with a pdx1000.1 if you end up going that route.

Im planning on using the Stock head unit from my 08 Tahoe..

I'll add a second battery and do a big 3.

I found a nice set of Focal comps that I'll probably buy two of.

so here it is..

Stock HU>

Alpine PDX 600.1 > (1) JL W6 13" in a sealed enclosure with 1.75 CF

Alpine PDX 150.4 > (2) 6.5" Focal 165KF

Second Kinetic Battery and Big 3 Upgrade..

I think thats it..

I'm really looking for Loud, Crisp & Clean power..

I'll probably change my mind in 2 days and change something, so im doing all the research and gathering as much input as I can..

thats not going to be that loud in a big *** tahoe. And with those amps you really have no need to run a second battery.

The comps would be fine...I meant sub wise. Do you want just a little bass or big bass? If your looking for a lot of base your going to want to do something different for a sub.

With your budget why not go with a AQ 2200 $389 on a pair of Fi Q 12" or 15" for the kind of money your paying for alpine you can get a much more impressive system. And extra battery or 2 is almost necessary with over 1500 watts, though I would assume your stock alt is pretty large.

Focal comps are great, spend like a hundred bucks on sound deadening your front doors and they will sound that much better, why keep the stock HU? for 2-300 you can get a ver nice aftermarket with better sound and a lot more options. There are better 2 channel amps for the money as well, try to get like 150 x 2 from phoenix gold or MTX amps and you will be happy and have spent less $$
