W6 vs W7

I am concerned with sound quality, but i want some bump, i have heard the fi and re make extremely good subs, but ive also heard that when it comes to the w6 and w7 the sq cant be beat
There are a few subs that sound as good if not better then any of JL's offerings depending on who you talk to. However, i think for your intended purpose something more SPL oriented would be your best bet.

so what would u reccomend? im open to any options im still pretty new to this game, my friend had an RE in his car, i think it was an mx series and he said it hit harder then his two previous 15's

I have heard very good things about the MX series, I also believe Fi has come out with some speakers called the BL's that look like they might work well. Might look at Kicker L7's. It all depends on what you're willing to try. If you want to go with something more mainstream or some internet brands. You'll probably get more bang for your buck with the internet brands.

I recommend you take some time to search and look around the subwoofer section. Maybe start a thread and ask some questions.

well it depends on how much room you have, what kind of power your able to give the sub(s) and your price range
well right now im trying to sell my current system if i can find someone willing to bargain with me, but probably 700 dollars ish, and i just have stock shit right now power wise, its a 2001 accord v6

But you're still paying a LOT more for a sub because the company is "well established"??//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif Thats neat....
please just like you i look for a bargain. there's no way in hell i'd for anywhere near retail for a jl sub. also there would be no way in hell i'd pay retail for their amps either. i got mine at cost and that was why i got them.

i was also explaining the reasoning why jl stuff is high priced. its well established and you know what you are getting. It's expensive and i'm sure there are subs out there that are better for the money.

well you can worry about the power situation after knowing what you will be putting in. For spl on a budget I don't think you can beat AQ. Not only are they inexpensive but they don't need too much power to get them loud (not that they wont handle it) that way you can save money on the sub and an amp since the amp doesnt have to be 2k+ watts. And later down the road if you want to be louder, and have some money double your power and keep bangin the AQ. Thats just one way you could go though

To the OP , just how loud do you wanna get? I like the sound of my w7 and im doing 143 ish off music on a Termlab .. Thats pretty good for a non spl daily sub off music in a trunk car w no deadener no matter what the haters in here are yappin about..

you never answer me. how and why JL is overpriced. i want numbers and somthing to back it.

if you think JL is over priced. then i think DLS and Dynaudio and every other high end company is over priced. have you seen RE msrp prices? us amps? even DD?

you need to STFU on this overpriced bs, untill you learn retail and msrp.
