So, my 2003 ford taurus has a 130A factory alternator. I'm going to run a 1000w rms system, and only about 600-700w will ever be used...No competitions. Will I need a new alternator? How about a new battery? Should I use the 1/0 gauge power wire (just running down the big 3). Are the big 3 so big to me?

You should be just fine. I have a stock 130a alternator on my explorer and i'm running about 1000 watts. I noticed a little bit of dimming so i went out and got a yellow top and did the Big 3. You might not need a new battery, but i suggest you do the big 3. It's cheap, easy, and a efficient way to help your eletrical system.
