vr4000d in and out of protection? idears?

Well I have had the amp for over 2 years and never one problem with it. Well I was tunin my 4 channels and notice the vr goin in and out of protection. So I restart the car and it still does it. I have not had a sub hooked up to it for awhile, as I was just finishing up my 18" box for this weekend.

What caused this? The amp was only on with no sub hooked up, so it was only being powered on

anyways, I need it fixed, advice? jbizzle was sayin its cuz I had no subs hooked up for a long period of time with the amp still powering on. So whats wrong with it?
