Volvo radio issue

Volvo 2006 XC70- upon purchasing 2 year ago, I installed a Kenwood reciever (I wanted Sirius). Everything went smoothly...UNTIL...cold weather. On cold days (40 and lower), the radio is dead when I get in the car. I have to shut the car off...remove the dash fuse panel cover and remove the fuse for the radio...then re-install it , all with the key OFF. Then, upon re-starting the car, power to the radio is returned. What a pain. Any clues?
