volume problem

i was listening to radio in car turned off to go get gas and when i came back i turned car on and had no volume with my stereo. everythig else works fine. i can cycle through the cd and radio options i just get no volume it goes from 0 to 1 but wont get any louder it stays at 1. anyoe know what may have happened. btw if it helps its a 2004 durango limited.
