volume goes up and down unintentionally

just by itself? are you sure its just by itself, or does it fluxuate with the RPM's your vehicle is running at? go turn your stereo and romp on the pedal in neutral and see if it fluxuates with the RPM's

could be an alternator issue if this is the case

yes, just by itself. and i've notice that the problem only occurs when the vehicle is moving. i went to CC and they told me they have no idea what the problem could be.

caraudio experts what could be the problem?????????????????????????

do you have an amp or amps? If you do not have an amplifier, then it is likely

the head unit. Go have the wiring checked by another installer, if it is good

then replace the head unit.

If you do have amps, you need a friend with amps lying around for you to test with

(if you lived in dfw I could hook you up for a few days but.. you don't).

Do you have a sub(s) with it's own amp? If so is it stable?

i got 2 12's in the back with their own amp. and im not sure what "stable" means.

....so maybe the problem could be the amp?

i dont know if this helps: 2 alpine type E 12" ( 4 ohms)

ALPINE MRP-M850 amp

what brand hu?
pioneers have auto leveling options, where road noise/engine noise will make the hu increase volume....this can be turned off

actually i do have a pioneer. DEH-P7700MP

i dont think it has those kinds of options tho

there are actually some head units. that will lower the volume when slowing down or at rest. and some that will raise the volume when going faster. its a setting im sure you can turn off. if that is the deal
