Volkswagon People ??

Two separate sentences. You should get him to lower the price because it's worth less than $1000. I didn't say lower the price because I don't like Volkswagen. I just said I don't like German cars. Learn some reading comprehension //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Just because its two seperate sentences doesn't mean that they dont go with each other.

If I would have said "because" then it would mean what you're saying. But they're clearly two separate unrelated statements. But you clearly don't understand simple reading comprehension. I was just making a recommendation to help you out anyways, if you feel it's worth $1000 then pay $1000.

How can you say its not worth $1K, Have you checked the value ?

With 100K, a 1990 model with no options in fair condition is worth 1195, with 1800 in excellent condition. Id say its worth around 1,000 depending on overall condition. Pictures only tell me so much so ill have to check it out.

sure check it out. it may be worth 1k now. but things WILL go wrong with it and they WILL cost a lot to repair

From experience. I've seen early 90's golfs going for around $1000 so I wouldn't pay $1000 for an 89. And then you're going to have to put work into it as well and sometimes it's hard to find parts for german cars. Just my $0.02.

I own a 98 passat, dont buy a VW... It will give you much more headache than pleasure, and if the motor has been rebuilt that means the timingbelt went out, so you want to make sure all the engine work and stuff was done at a certified VW mechanic.

Using it for my food delivery. No one responded in the Honda thread. Just looking for something small with decent room that is decently quick. It needs a headlamp housing for inspection. Motor is rebuilt with 50K on it. I would proly find the time to do a Vr6 swap at some point.
I love older VW Golf/GTI's. I had a mid 90's jetta for a while and one thing to keep in mind that parts are comparatively pricey (as are repairs) when compared to say a honda. If this is a non issue, then go for it, they are fun little cars. Rebuilt with 50k is nice, check what the timing belt change interval is for that engine however. Only horror story I'd ever heard about VW's is electrical gremlins. As with any car, definitely run it down to a qualified mechanic to check out, it can save a ton of headaches down the road.
