Visa chargeback?

okay, ive been dealing with issues with my head unit i bought from sonic electronix for some time now.

long story short:

had a cd5000 head unit. had issues with it, display colors, not working prop, etc.

sent it back, they told me eclipse takes 6-8 weeks for repair. called eclipse, they said it takes them 3-5 days. complete bold face lie is what SE's warranty manager told me.

eventually got it worked out where i would pay another $20 + shipping and get the 5100 so i dont have to wait for the 5000.

got the 5100, someone threw out the main box which had some screws and the remote in it, so i dont have the remote or the extra screws. head unit is FUXED.

cd's wont eject even after resetting the unit and disconnecting power.

SE is telling me since i dont have the original box, i may not be able to have the unit warranty replaced or repaired, and they also said a wait time of 8 weeks.

IM NOT FKING WAITING 2 MONTHS for a repair. if you only knew the BS ive been going through with them, worst customer service, EVER...and i work in customer service, so i know what good CS is.

ANYWAY not to make this a vendor review;

i was considering contacting Visa to have the amount that i originally paid plus the difference refunded to my card if i send back the unit with proof (tracking + confirm of receiving)...i worked for a .com company who had "chargebacks", basically disputes they didnt win...the customer had to either send the purchased stuff back and got a credit, or they sometimes got to keep the merchandise and still got the credit.

i was wondering how do i go about basically trumping SE's retarded, rude and ignorant CS and get my money back for their broken *** head units (given i send it back)

 
call visa and tell them that you did not recive what you ordered, whitch means you did not authorize it. the charge was for a cd5000 you have in your hands a cd 5100. it should be that simple that they sent you the wrong item and now they are refusing to give you what you ordered.

dont know how well that would work; because its not like its the next day after i got it...i got it like 3 months ago.

they are refusing to provide decent customer service, telling me 2-3 month wait times when i spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars with them...

im not taking it up the a$$ on this one; i want to send this broke *** hu back and i want my money - im going to crutchfield where at least they are an authorized dealer and i'll get GOOD customer service

**** right man. at least i got rid of a lot of problems... the vehicle i was using, and the system itself..

this new place, auto illusions did an awesome job wiring my ride and settin up my box in the back. 10 times better than nutz.

when the HU works, shits bumpin. i will never buy eclipse after having 2 defective units on TWO different models.

i just need to know if visa will be in my favor or basically tell me to go kick rocks

I usually tell the company I called Visa after having such a hard time and they said to first try and work something out with you so here I am.

Has worked for me 100% of the time though I can't guarantee it.. Companies HATE chargebacks (trust me I run one)

 
Whats funny, is JL audio used to not sell ANYTHING online. They had this section on their site that completely dissed all forms of online sales.

I noticed recently that they changed it. It no longer says all the bad things about online purchasing online.

It now says:

oh i know, i worked for a .com supplement store... as soon as the bosses would get a chargeback they would go apeshit.

i think thats what im going to do, call them tomorrow (se) and basically say listen, i can understand me not having my remote, i will buy a replacement remote and send that back along with my head unit and all that jazz and i want my money back, or im calling visa to file a dispute. your choice.

these guys were total A-holes to me the first time, and even when i called this time i started to explain my situation, the guy was in a HUGE rush to get me off the phone and he INTERRUPTS me and says "let me get you to the warranty manager"...after interrupting me transfers me to a voicemail.

 
Umm they lied, but Im sure you already see that. On Eclipse products the first year of ownership is Direct replacement over the counter. No downtime of your HU. After that (3 yrs total) is usually about a max of two weeks and thats primarily in transit time. Of course this is all based on buying from an authorized dealer.

Please .. Don't bash the product for poor service from your seller.
