Nothing Is Promised
So my computer has been acting weird recently so I downloaded AntiVir just to check things out. My mom has this stupid anti virus/parental control thing from my local cable/internet provider.

Then AntiVir found 30 viruses. All of which I deleted. Those haven't been coming up through AntiVir. But now this Trojan Horse (TR/Vundo.Gen) will NOT GO AWAY. Keeps coming up through AntiVir's Guard and I delete it everytime. Makes my PC freeze once in awhile. Anyone know anything about this Vundo.Gen trojan??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

i think that's it...

you might consider changing your credit card numbers, address, and name...sounds extreme but if you saw what i've seen you might just think about it...if you've got a trojan it's more than likley someones got your info...the nastier ones give the person a screen shot of your desktop so it's as if they are looking right over your shoulder...they see exactly what you see...and everytime you turn on the comp they get a message telling them your online...scary shit.

keep off the **** sites...not saying that to be a jackass i'm being serious...try getting some real virus protection besides that free shit and you will see what pops upwhen you go on them...but at the same time any program you get is only going to detect what it knows about...if you want to really be safe you have to change your behavior ... with every click of some unknown file or link you run the risk of being infected...and it only takes ONE click for that to happen....make sure you know what your clicking and where it's REALLY going to take you or that so called picture file has a .jpg extension and not .exe or .bat or something weird.....as far as getting rid of that virus, google it...you will prolly have to edit the registry...sometimes it's just easier to erase everything and start over cause that shit will just lurk forever.

Time for a format. Back up all your important stuff and reformat your computer, then reinstall windows.
Thats what I figured. I dont have an external HD or big enough flash drive to store the things I want to keep (mainly music and pictures from trips..lots of pics)

woot! found one..will try it once I get homehttp://wiki.castlecops.com/Vundo_Rootkit_Detection_and_Removal_Procedure

try to find a program called acronis. After you reformat and get your comp just the way you want it you can use this program to make an image of the os. Then in the future if anything like this happens again you just load up the image and its like you just formatted your comp. Saves alot of hasstle.

If you cant find the program just pm me.
