viper d2500.1 fried, from ike sound

Ikesond blows. Happened to my (2) DEI 4200 I bought from them a year go. Both were bad when I hooked them up..

Ikesound is still making money because they take $36 for returns. They dont refund money, only give store credit. Dispute with your credit card company.

Ike sound isnt authorized for DEI they only thing they are authorized for is mayeb those cheap *** brands. Alot of their refurbs are done in house some people just dont know it . Ike is overall the last place on earth I'd buy anything audio related reguardless of price.

Screw Ikesound, my Directed 1100d got damaged after few minutes only, and it was connected to a 2 ohms load. As i payed 200US$ for the shipping from USA to the midleeast:(, heh no way to send it back to USA for repair, now i am gonna try to bring few Mosfet transistors that got damaged and hopefully repair the amp myself:(
If you are going to try to resolder in new MOSFETS, then make sure to check the current resistors near the mosfets, because most of the time when the mosfets fry, the resistors go with it. If you do not replace them the mosfets will fry again when its powered on.

Isnt the Directed stuff refurbed by Directed, though? The amps come in a box with a "factory refurbished" sticker on them, and a warranty offered through Directed.

I was going to order a Viper d1200.1, but after all the s**t going around right now from them I dont think so. They claim they are refurbished from DEI, at least that is what they told me.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

You have a warranty from DEI included in the box. That makes me think that DEI is refurbing them, not ikesound.

Maybe someone should call Directed and ask them- I tried to call, sat on hold for 20 minutes, left a voicemail.

Ok i've been thinking about it... When I turned the HU off and back on every light in the car dimmed really bad and thats when the amp made a snap sound. I then Shut it back off and accidentally turned it back on and thats when it started to smoke. Could it be that the remote wire got grounded out?
