Viper D1200.1 keeps blowing fuses

I just installed my refurbed Viper D1200.1 last night. It was working great for 20 mins and then it shut off. All 3 of the 30amp fuses blew. I replaced them with 3 more fresh 30amp fuses and upon the amp turning on again, they blew again, not even 2 seconds of play from the amp.

The gain is at 50%, no bass boost. I am running it at a 1 ohm load powering 2 Kicker L7's.

Any ideas? Bad amp?

Thanks for your help

My ground and power were touching with them ghey *** connectors, make sure that yours arent. And makee sure there is no other ground in the wires.

The same exact thing happened to me when I had my Viper. It played perfectly for about 20 mins then shut off and everytime I turned it on after that the fuses under my hood blew almost instantly. And the only one time the amp did play it was so hot I couldn't even touch it.

So It was a bad amp? Or bad wiring?

When I took it to the shop they said it was a bad amp but I don't really trust that shop. They offered to take my "broken" Viper and give me a old Cadence Z1200, at that time I wasn't spending another dime on audio so I accepted at offer. The more I think about it I think they were lying so you should definitly check all of your wiring. I was too impatient back then and I'll never know if I lost a good amp for no reason so for sure check the wires because I know the connectors on the Viper arn't too tight at all. It might have been something as simple as wires touching but I do know this time around I'm going with Hifonics becuase I hated the Viper ground and power connectors.

How do I check and see if there is a short?
First, find out what a short is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Check to see if there is any bare power wire touching any part of any metal. Including even a single strand of power and ground touching eachother.

i tired to fix the ground, but they just kept on a blowin. and i sent it away to get fixed, and they sent me back a replacement Voodoo 1600.1 79%ef at 1ohm 1600w
