it was on ebay, the dude bought and everything, used an unconfirmed addy, then requested a paypal refund without contacting me. I checked, seen the unconfirmed addy, seen his feedback that he done it before, so I knew this wasnt something new. so tried for a day to get ahold of him, no contact back, dude blocked me on yahoo, so i knew what his game plan was. the item shipped on the 8th day from the warehouse so it wasnt a week within buyer requirements, plus the fact of him not being confirmed, so instead of trying to fight paypal and hoping they would sway my way, i stopped shipment and agreed to the paypal complaint which gave him a refund, instead of trying to fight paypal and not being fully protected.

so just another reason to only shipped to confirmed addresses? I already do that... also almost learned the hard way as well.

yeah, i usually do but there are alot of people that either are too lazy, too stupid, or just dont care about getting a confirmed address, which is about 50% of my biz, so thats why i NEVER rush shipping. with warehouse delays and ground shipping, a fraudulent funds charge happens before delivery so it works out swell.

I have been having trouble as well. I actually just sold something after I almost got scammed. Auction stated I only shipped to confirmed addy's. The ******* pays for it and gives me an unconfirmed address and tells me to ship it asap or he'll leave feedback. He ended up filing a paypal account after mulitple emails explaining what he needed to do. I complied... sent the $ back, and never received his neg feedback as threatened. There is actually a way to set it up, so that it will not accept payment if the buyer doesnt give you an unconfirmed address. Just setup it recently and think it'll save me a ton of probems.

yeah, thats setup in your paypal preferences to not accept unconfirmed payments, but i usually only have this prob with about 1 in 200 purchases. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The only way to protect yourself is to always wait 2-3 days for the money to go through via paypal. DO NOT send merchandise as soon as you see money deposited. Always wait until it clears and the money has been safely deposited/transfered into your bank account.
