Viper 791xv, remote no longer communicating with car...

i have the Viper 791xv system, and it's not working anymore, it just happened yesterday, for no good reason, and anytime I try and arm the alarm, or unlock and disarm the car, the remote just sits there, and beeps 3 times after a few seconds, like it does when it's out of range...

I went back to the shop where I got it installed, the dude said I have to get a new remote... I wanna use me old remote, it's not broke or anything, it just doesn't remember my car... Any help?

nah you need a new remote...mine did that when it crapped out..it sucks cause new remotes are expensive too

i'm on my third remote... at $75 a pop i paid more in remotes than the entire alarm cost

Have them check the antenna. I've had a couple here where the antenna crapped out, swapped it and it worked like a champ. If that doesn't work...it's the remote. How old is the alarm? All accessories come w/ a one year warranty, so if it's less than a year old and there is no physical damage, it should be covered.

****, I couldn't sleep at night... But I'm fine now...

For some reason, my car died... In a McDonald's parking lot, in front of a bunch of girls... Very low moment in my life. Anyways, I check the battery, and the connector at the post was loose,because of the threading in the battery being stripped, I switched the battery with the other one I have in my engine bay (99 Yukon, two battery locations), which I connect to each other using a set of jumper cables for less battery drainage while bumping... And when I got home, I pressed the lock button on my remote, and it started working again like nothing ever happened.

Thank god! Thanks for the replies though guys, I'm so happy I don't have to get another remote....
