Viper 791xv remote issue

I have had my 791xv installed in my truck for 4 yrs now with no problems. Last week the remote started acting up. It started taking 3-4 button presses before the door unlocked or locked. The remote was acting like it lost comm with the control module. I know it's probably the remote just wanted to verify. thanks
