viper 771 remote problems

I've had the viper 771 for about a year now and the remote is acting up now. If you touch it, it plays a song until you hit a button on the remote, then it plays a "confirmation" jingle and stops. Did I accidentally put it in some weird mode? IMO think something is loose inside. Is it possible to just buy another remote and have it programmed to my alarm?? Thanks in advance!

check and/or replace the battery

hmm, cause i know that song plays when the battery is replaced, i thought it was a loose connection on the batt terminals or a weak batt

that's what I thought, i pulled on the spring (where the batt goes) just in case it became loose or somethin but that didn't help. Does anyone know if a new remote can be configured to my alarm?

you probly have something loose inside the remote. go to ebay and search for that model of alarm and the remote should come up

Yes, if you purchase a new remote it can be programmed to your alarm. The remote should come with programming instructions.

I've seen problems with those remotes where the battery moves around a little bit and loses contact with the terminals, which keeps resetting the remote. You can try wrapping a bit of paper or tape around the battery so that it's seated more securely.
