*video* motorized in-dash monitor clearance problem

hey i just put installed an in-dash kenwood dvd-player/monitor.. it's motorized so when i power it on the screen folds out. however, after it folds the actual screen out and recedes back towards the HU, it's not able to go back all the way. the top of the monitor hits my car's dash and the monitor feels it so it re-angles the screen so that it can clear it. i noticed that i can pull the monitor towards me (like it slides on its tracks.. it doesnt seem to resist when i pull on it) i only need to pull it out about a quarter to maybe a half an inch and then push the screen back and the monitor will clear the dash and at the same time not be angled.. here is a video of the obstacle.. if you notice i barely have to pull the monitor toward me and then re-angle it slightly to have it "flat" and perpendicular to the ground:

is it ok to slide the kenwood monitor tray toward me a tad bit everytime i power on the moniitor? it was designed to be able to pulled back and forth by hand am i right? i would guess so because i've never read anything about certain in-dashes not being able to be installed in some cars. please correct me if im wrong as i havent researched many in-dashes.

ok i couldnt host the video cuz photobucket converts my 3GP files to flash which becomes inaudible and choppy as a mofo. anyone know how to convert 3gp files to something besides FLV that wont lose its frame rate??
