I am just gona use agp for now lol. I like easy stuff that I know how to do like put it in and turn it on then play my games lol

same here. I recently upgraded my pc and I just got a AGP one. It is still a huge step from what I had before. Way better pc now. The only drawback really is that it doesnt have SLI which I doubt I am going to get any time soon. I'll just wait a while so that the 8x agp cards drop in price now that the SLI cards are out

I would go with Nvidia. I never had a problem getting customer support from them and getting all the drivers. Plus it worked with everything. I owned an ATI a while back and I did not work with everything. But then again they probably have gotten alot more compatibility with things since then. I would still go with Nvidia.

I total agree. The drivers were hard to find for the ATI. It seems like the compatibility is better, but i would still choose the Nvidia. I run a Radeon 9800 Pro

Don't get an Intel CPU. Go with AMD. Something like an Athalon 3800+ would kick the crap out of a Celeron D.

Well, they both have their strengths and weaknesses ... However, you tend to get more performance for the money with AMD ...

I have a amd athlon xp 1800 I believe is what it is called, but has been flawless. Never one problem with it and its going on 3yrs I believe and the cost was not bad at the time.

B'sides, how many AIW's have you personally had problems with?

I've owned 4 since the very first 4MB AIW Pro, and one is my current AIW X800 XT. They've all been great for me.

A 6600GT will undoubtedly be faster (than a AIW 9700 Pro) for gaming.

i say u get the 6600gt for PC games and buy a dedicated tv tuner card in the future if u actually want to play your console games on your dinky monitor.

I'd look into an AMD 64 based CPU. Either a Venice or San Diego core, 3200-3700+...
