I still like him.
Dog fighting is no better/worse than chicken fighting or gassing a bunch of drunk retards up to fight. If they don't really have a "choice" in the matter and really lose a sense of self-identity...what's the diffference?

It doesnt matter to me whether you think my opinion of Vick is dumb. And, to be honest it doesnt matter to me that you think that I shouldnt support him.

I like him as a football player. And I actually have met him a few times. He's rather nice actually.

He made mistakes. And it happens. I'm not saying that what he did was right at all.

But, since when did killing a dog=killing a human being.

I think he should serve jail time and that's final. I don't get cable though so I don't know what's going on really these days.

Being punished with a 300,000.00 fine wouldnt do a thing, just like it never does to the stars, because they can pay it and be done with it with no problem. I think he should spend about 3 weeks in prison so he can see what is like then let him do his thing on the field again.

just to throw it out there for conversational purposes...what does meeting someone and them being nice to you have to do with anything?

that doesn't make sense...its almost the equivalent of saying they were wearing black shorts when you met them...

im not going to get down on the whole dogs/humans/torture blah blah...he committed a crime according to the authorities...so he is due punishment...whatever it is...i dont believe in star treatment personally...they should be subject to the same things as us...but it will rarely ever happen, if ever...its moot to even argue it...

does everyone realize that dog fighting isnt what hes really going down for? that is what everyone is clinging on but the reason hell serve jail time is because of the gambling and crossing state lines to do this.

fact is if he stayed in virginia and fought the dogs hed only be facing misdemeanor charges.

watch animal planet, dog fighting happens all the time. no one ever gets actual sentences for it....

I heard a theory of how he may end up spending little if any time in the pokey.

Hudson set Vick's sentencing for Dec. 10 on the single federal conspiracy charge but repeatedly reminded him that he is not bound by the prison sentence of 12 to 18 months that prosecutors and Vick's attorneys are recommending. "The bottom line is that if I decide you deserve five years and give you five years, you can't appeal it," the judge said. "Do you understand? You're taking your chances here. . . . You have to live with whatever decision I make."

U.S. Attorney Chuck Rosenberg said in a statement Monday morning that federal sentencing guidelines had appeared to call for a prison term of up to six months and that a first-time offender like Vick normally might not have received any jail time.

But because Vick's conduct was so "heinous, cruel and inhumane,'' Rosenberg said, prosecutors insisted that the sentencing range be adjusted upward to 12-18 months, and Vick's attorneys agreed. "It is highly unusual for a defendant to agree to recommend a sentence above the advisory guideline range,'' Rosenberg said.
